Born in 1954 in a family of pottery artists in Yixing, Jiangsu Province. In 1970, he joined the Yixing Zisha Factory, where he studied under veteran artist Chen Fuyuan and often received careful guidance from master Gu Jingzhou. In 1974, he went to Nanjing University of Technology to study ceramics, and later studied ceramics design at Nanjing Art School. In 2010, he was promoted to researcher-level senior arts and crafts artist by the Jiangsu Province Advanced Professional Technical Qualification Review Committee for Arts and Crafts. He is currently a member of the China Arts and Crafts Association, the art director of Yixing Jinda Ceramics Company, and the deputy editor of "National Skills Ceremony: Chinese Purple Clay Pottery".

Zisha works inherit the excellent traditions of China, with a rich cultural flavor and solid technical skills. They mainly design and create square objects, and also work on round objects. Representative works such as "Dabin Liang Liang", "Xianghe Liang Liang", "Ji Square Pot", "Ya Ming Square Pot" and "Yabian Square Pot" are elegant in shape, with crisp lines, clear and regular, dignified and vigorous. The spirit is revealed in the uprightness, and the charm is seen in the simplicity and elegance.
