[Strong female pottery hand] - Gu Yanmei, A national-level assistant arts and crafts artist, he was born in Dingshu, Yixing in 1972 into a family of pottery artists. His ancestors and fathers were all engaged in the purple sand industry, and he has been exposed to it since childhood. At the age of 18, he embarked on the journey of making pots and studied with his aunt Gu Xingjuan (a national arts and crafts artist). He has been with Zisha for thirty years now. He first studied at Zisha No. 2 Factory, where he received guidance from Chinese ceramic art masters Wu Ming and Cao Wanfen. He cultivated excellent artistic accomplishments and acquired solid basic skills. Later, he set up his own studio and made pots independently.

The work "Jingzhou Stone Scoop" won the gold medal in the Famous Pot Selection at the Fifth Northern China Tea Trade Expo and Zisha Art Festival.

The work "Mirror Tile" won the Art and Craft Gold Award at the 2nd Hainan Cultural Industry Expo
