[Delete the complex and make it simple, soft and natural] - Xu Huafang, a national-level senior arts and crafts artist, commonly known as Yan Gao. Born in Yixing, Jiangsu Province in 1964, he loved purple clay since he was a child. After graduation, he entered the Jiangsu Yixing Zisha Craft Factory and worked under the guidance of many famous teachers. In 1993, he entered the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts for further study. Follow the creative principle of sensibility and enter a creative space of freedom, nature, self-pleasure, self-entertainment and self-pleasure. It adopts the traditional hand-kneading method, combined with the painting layout, which is soft and natural, embracing the natural shape with a normal mind, and using the language of pottery to downplay the technical characteristics.

In addition to having solid basic skills, he combines creativity and tradition to reflect the depth, breadth and simplicity of purple sand tea sets, and forms his own artistic style. His works have won many awards in competitions and have been collected by art academies and overseas cultural centers. His works have been reported in the San Francisco Times and are deeply loved by experts and people from all walks of life.

In 1993, his works "Strange Melon" and "Gourd Bamboo" were included in the permanent collection of the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts.

In 1996, his work "Grass Pot" was collected by the Rijksmuseum of the Netherlands.

In 2009, his work "Bamboo Segment Pot" was reviewed and approved by the organizing committee as a New China National Gift Artist Exhibition.

In 2010, the work "Li Bai Drunk" was acquired by the Anhui Museum for permanent collection.

In 2011, the work "Confident" was acquired by Anhui Museum for permanent collection.

In 2012, his works "Yipin Bamboo Festival" and "Ox Turning the Universe" won the gold medal at the 14th China (National) Arts and Crafts Masters Expo.

In 2012, the work "Three-line Bamboo Segment Pot" was acquired by the Wuxi Museum for permanent collection.

In 2013, his work "Red Bean Pot" won the gold medal at the 2013 Shanghai Folk Culture Expo.

In 2014, his work "Bamboo Segment Pot" was included in the permanent collection of China Zisha Museum.

In 2015, the work "Mirror Tile Pot" was included in the permanent collection of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Museum.

In 2018, "Confident" obtained the design patent certificate, patent number: ZL 2018 3 0372732.2

In 2018, "Sun God" obtained the design patent certificate, patent number: ZL 2018 3 0373464.6

In 2018, the work "Mugu Pot" was included in the permanent collection of Anhui Museum.
