In 1972, he entered Jiangsu Yixing Zisha Craft Factory and studied purple clay crafts, pottery carving decoration and purple clay molding and production techniques from Chinese arts and crafts master Bao Zhiqiang and Chinese ceramic art master Cao Wanfen. In-depth analysis and study of the traditional shape of purple sand, careful study of the traditional purple sand art style of the ancients, and bold creation of novel shapes and decorative techniques. The works are mainly made of light plain goods, forming a unique style of self-designed molding and self-designed ceramic carving decoration, and have won many awards at domestic and foreign exhibitions. Huang Ziying pursues "preferring lack rather than excess". The amount of creations sometimes is less than two works a year, and she insists on her own artistic ideals.

The work "Long Bamboo Pot" won the third prize in the fifth national ceramic art design creation competition. The work "Hundred Life Hanging Plate" won the third prize in the Jiangsu Province Ceramic Art New Product Exhibition.
