[China Youth Strength Traditionalist] - Liu Xifen, born in a ceramic family in November 1965, graduated as a senior engineer in 2017. In 1981, he worked at the Jiangsu Yixing Zisha Craft Factory and learned the purple clay molding process from Ms. Gao Lijun, a master of arts and crafts in Jiangsu Province. In 1985, he was selected into the Zisha Craft Factory Research Institute with excellent results and studied Zisha modeling design under Mr. Gu Shaopei, a master of Chinese arts and crafts. Under the careful teaching of his mentor, his skills improved by leaps and bounds.

Since then, he has participated in the "Ceramic Modeling Advanced Class" training organized by the Wuxi Technical and Business Training and Assessment Committee for many times. In 1990, he was awarded the title of Arts and Crafts Artist, specializing in purple sand design and creation. In August 1993, he participated in the "Ceramic Modeling Design Advanced Class" organized by the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts for further study. He received the completion certificate with excellent results and studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts. During his further studies, the "ink sand pot" he created was collected by the Ceramic Art Department of the institute. After years of technical training, the theoretical foundation has been improved, the artistic vision has been broadened, and the creative design ability has become increasingly mature. In September 2000, he participated in the "Yixing Zisha Celebrities Art Exhibition" organized by Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Society and Wuxi Museum, and his work "Tea Rhyme Pot" was collected by the museum. In 2001, he was rated as an assistant arts and crafts artist and was elected as a member of the Jiangsu Arts and Crafts Society.

In October 2001, his purple clay "Auspicious Pot" won the Outstanding Work Award at the Second China Arts and Crafts Masters and Arts and Crafts Expo in 2001 in Hangzhou; in November 2004, he won the "China·Shanghai International Art Festival and the Sixth China Arts and Crafts Expo" At the "China Arts and Crafts Masters Exhibition", his large-scale masterpiece "Hidden Six-square Corner Pot" was awarded the Bronze Award; in May 2005, in the second Yixing Professional Newcomers New Works Exhibition, his work "Siting Pot" After strict evaluation by the judges, it was awarded the Excellence Award. Since its creation, the works have been favored by collectors and customers at home and abroad.

In between careful design and creation, he published papers in the provincial publication "Jiangsu Ceramics" in 2004 and 2005, and his works have been included in the "Chinese Purple Clay Illustrated Dictionary". Currently working in the studio of China Yixing Ceramics Museum (Ming Tao Yixuan), specializing in purple clay creation and design.
